Savannah Spirit is a fine-art photographer and curator orginally from Los Angeles. Born into a family of artists and songwriters, Savannah was encouraged to be creative as a kid, ultimately picking up the camera & taking pictures since she was 7 yrs old. Since 2014, Savannah has embarked on a self-portrait project, turning the camera on herself for the very first time addressing the female/male gaze and body positivity. As an activist, Savannah has dedicated her time to photographing important civil rights issues since 2012 such as Occupy Wall Street, People’s Climate March, March Against Monsanto and the Women’s March. Recently, Savannah was interviewed on the National Coalition Against Censorship's Arts Advocacy podcast about her work being censored from social media. Savannah's images have been published in The Abolitionist, The Nation, LA Weekly, Forbes, AINT-BAD Magazine, Best American Poetry, Bomb, Vice, W, Shindig!, Dazed, Bullett, Hype, Billboard, THE Magazine, Huffington Post, New York Magazine and D/railed. She has lectured about her work with the iPhone at various Apple stores in New York City. Her work is in private collections in Rome, Sao Paolo, London, Miami, New York and Los Angeles including a permanent piece in Tom Ford's Houston, TX showroom. Since 2011, Savannah has curated NYC's celebrated erotica series, Hotter Than July. HOTTER THAN JULY: Hands Off My Cuntry was featured on German television's 3sat arts and culture program.
